The Ontario election is fast approaching and YWCA has a clear message for leaders: put gender equity front and centre.

Across Ontario, women and girls are disproportionately impacted by violence, poverty and systemic oppression – particularly if they are racialized, Indigenous, living with disabilities, newcomers, seniors, trans, queer or gender non-binary.

From #MeToo to #TimesUp, more women than ever before are speaking out about sexual harassment and violence. We need action – now.

Let’s build on this moment to call for:

A continuum of housing options for women – including, safe, affordable housing, emergency shelters, transitional and supportive programs.

Dedicated program dollars for girls, young women and gender non-binary youth

A universal, affordable, high quality child care system across Ontario

Join the campaign today, call on provincial leaders to ensure that these critical issues are a top priority.
