You can help families feel safe.

Last Christmas, my mom told me to pack a bag quickly. He would be back soon. She hid the bag behind a pile of old boots in the back of the closet – it was a place he would never look. It would be months before I would see my stuff again. It would be months before I would feel safe enough to sleep and to play, to think about school and my friends.

My mom was waiting for a room in a safe place. She said we were on a list.

But there was no waiting for dad. That last night, we knew we had to go right then. Right that minute. We might not get another chance. Christmas would be someplace else this year.

The YWCA changed my life.

We are home and we have a future. I learned that YWCA Phoenix Place helps moms and kids like me and helps families who might sleep in their cars. Sometimes families sleep on the streets so they won’t get hurt and the YWCA gives them a place to call home. Just like they gave me. I learned that the YWCA helps families feel safe.

You can help families feel safe. You can provide a home. You can provide a future.

Can I count on you to make a donation to the YWCA of $100, $200 or $650? Friends like you provide hope for families like mine. Without friends like you, I would not have had a chance to feel safe at home, to play with my friends or to have a happy Christmas.

Friends like you make it possible for families like mine to feel happy and live in peace. Last year alone, more than 2,000 women and girls like me received help from YWCA Hamilton. More than 465 women got away from violence because they were given a new place to live. Just like us.

Friends like you helped me and mom.

Please help another family by making a donation of $100, $200, $650 or whatever you can afford to help moms and their children. The YWCA can’t do their work without you.

Please show women and children that you care about them. Thank you for being a friend.

Thank you for donating so that families can be safe. So that they can have a place to call home and a peaceful holiday.
