Meet Elizabeth: YWCA Hamilton's Turning Point Award Winner

March 22, 2017 at 1:53PM until June 30, 2017 at 1:53PM

In 2016, YWCA Hamilton established a new initiative — the Turning Point Giving Circle — so women leaders in our community could collaboratively and actively make a difference in the lives of women, girls and their families. As part of the Turning Point Giving Circle, members must make a difficult decision, choosing the recipient of the 2017 Turning Point Award.
The Turning Point Award is a financial award which recognizes the achievements of a woman who has participated in a YWCA program and is now making a difference in her life and in the lives of others. After being introduced to five remarkable women, the Turning Point Giving Circle chose a young woman who has overcome hardship and adversity with the help of our Developmental Services department. Every day, Elizabeth moves closer to achieving her dream of opening her own sewing business. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.
Take a moment to watch Elizabeth’s story in a video produced by Turning Point Giving Circle member and Women of Distinction Award nominee Mindy Tweedle.
