Be the Recipe for Change

“The YWCA provides us with a safe place to live, but finding affordable meals is often challenging. Life shouldn’t be about struggling for food just to survive.”

— YWCA Hamilton Transitional Living Program resident

YWCA Hamilton does not receive any government funding to provide meals for the women who live in our Transitional Living Program. With few resources, many are forced to stand in line at food banks and look to other free or low cost food sources. The reality of finding employment and affordable housing seems impossible when hunger is a daily occurrence.

Our goal is to provide women in the Transitional Living Program with as many meals as possible through the support of the community. You can help by being a recipe for change. Gather a group of friends or colleagues, and contact us about preparing a meal for the women.

Be the Recipe for Change is an initiative of At the Table, YWCA Hamilton's social enterprise that has an objective of providing training opportunities and healthy meals to women who access the Transitional Living Program.
