We know you care about women in Hamilton. Help us provide a meal to the women who call YWCA Hamilton home.
With your help, we can provide the 65 women who live at YWCA Hamilton’s Transitional Living Program a healthy and nutritious meal through YWCA’s Be the Recipe for Change program. This unique initiative through our social enterprise café, At the Table, provides healthy meals to the women who call YWCA Hamilton home. In addition to receiving safe, supportive housing, the women residing in Transitional Living gain access to employment and training opportunities through the At the Table Café.
Last year, 5,525 individual meals were enjoyed and shared together by the 65 women residing in Transitional Living – each meal generously prepared by the 500+ supporters of YWCA’s Be the Recipe for Change.
With a donation of $400, you can participate in an interactive cooking experience with 5 of your friends. Prior to cooking, we will provide you with a tour of our facilities where you will learn about the YWCA Hamilton’s overall mission to support women, girls and families in our community. Your donation also provides a paid training opportunity to participants in our employment training programs. You’ll get to cook side by side program participants.
If you are unable to come in, consider making a donation of $300 to adopt a meal. All the meal planning and cooking will be done by our incredible staff from At the Table. This also provides a training opportunity for the women who call YWCA Hamilton home.
YWCA Hamilton does not receive government funding to provide meals for the 65 women who live in our Transitional Living Program. With few resources, many residents are forced to stand in line at food banks and look to other free or low cost food sources. Facing daily hunger creates a barrier on these women’s journeys as they try and find employment and affordable housing. This is a barrier no one should face.
You can make a life-changing impact today. You can show women in Hamilton that you care. We can’t do it without you.
