YWCA Hamilton operates services on lands originally cared for by the Erie, Huron-Wendat, Mississaugas of the Credit, Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and the Attiwanderonk peoples.

It is territory acknowledged in the dish with one spook wampum belt agreement and also in treaty 3. Living and working here makes all of us treaty peoples and we strive to uphold the commitments to share the land in a good way.

We also honour and celebrate Indigenous women, girls, Two Spirit and gender-diverse people in our community and are committed to honouring their knowledge, leadership and wisdom in our work, systems and practices.
