The Oakwood Project: Coming Fall 2027
Oakwood Place is an 84-unit supportive housing community
Designed for women, gender-diverse people and families, and survivors of gender-based violence, Oakwood Place will combine safe housing with wraparound supports that help residents move toward long-term stable housing.
Building on YWCA Hamilton’s success at Putman Family YWCA, the development includes 24 family-sized units and 60 bed/bath units, alongside shared kitchens, lounges, and dedicated outdoor spaces.
Opening in Fall 2027, Oakwood Place represents a generational investment in safety, housing stability, and brighter futures for women and their children.

Yes. Supportive and transitional housing are different than a shelter. Women and families will live at Oakwood for months or years and receive support to achieve their own independence and fulfillment.
